Thank you for your enquiry with Savannah Cats Australia. I regret to inform you that the Savannahs are currently banned from import into Australia, after receiving all the appropriate approvals and the green light from all levels of Government.
What we are suggesting to all those wishing to one day own a Savannah cat is to contact the person responsible for the ban and that person was Minister Peter Garrett, for your convenience I have included his details below. We are currently appealing the decision and all supporting letters to him help our appeal.
There is no direct email address but you can contact him via:
We are fighting for your right as an Australian citizen, in a free country, to own a cat, and your support is appreciated.
Kind Regards

We ask that you support her safe passage here to Australia by showing your support.
Please sign the petition to enable her to come to her new home.

We have publicly made available without change or alteration the two government reports pertaining to the importation of the Savannah cat breed. The first report was commissioned in 2007 and was the final report into the importation of the Savannah cat.
We have also made public the 2008 report which was compiled in record time.We encourage you whether you are for or against to take the time to read both reports and after doing so reach your own conclusion.
*** Due to the fact that the Savannah cat breed is not yet in Australia, some pictures on this site are of lower generation Savannahs, ie. F1-F4, these generations are not permitted into Australia. Only F5 generation and above are permitted.***
